The IESO connects generators, transmitters, retailers, industries
and businesses, and local distribution companies and co-ordinates
emergency preparedness for the province's electricity system. The
IESO played a key role in managing the restoration of power
following the August 2003 blackout.

Governed by an independent Board whose Chair and Directors are
appointed by the Government of Ontario, the IESO has full
statute-based authority for establishing, monitoring and enforcing
reliability standards in the province of Ontario. All the companies
that make up the power system in Ontario must meet the IESO's
standards.

Frame Relay Assessment
Assessment of the security of the IESO Frame Relay network. Includes
external penetration testing and testing the viability of external
entities to manipulate the production and transmission of
electricity.

Internet Facing Applications Assessment
Assessment of the security of IESO systems that may be exposed to
the internet. Enumeration of available systems and subsequent
testing of the security of those systems from unauthorized users,
including the VPN infrastructure.
q PBX
Voice System Assessment
Assessment of the confidentiality and availability of the PBX and
voice system. Includes war-dialing of
voice and data lines. Test configuration of the exchange for
possible exposure to toll-fraud, unauthorized trunk-to-trunk
bridging, and access to the data network via the PSTN. |
